The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a recall on Takata Airbags. Long term exposure to heat and humidity can cause the airbags to explode when deployed. These explosions have caused serious injury and death.

The NHTSA encourages owners of cars containing Takata airbags to make an appointment with their car dealer for airbag replacement as soon as possible. The airbag replacement will be free. The NHTSA also announced that more car makes and models will be added to this list in December 2019, bringing the number of impacted cars up to around 65-70 million.
