First things first, should you really be searching for a “lawyer near me?” Is it better to have an attorney that is local or a lawyer that focuses their practice on the topic that you need. The answer really depends on your priorities. If you want a lawyer around the corner that you can always meet in person, then a local attorney in your own town would be best. If you are fine with communicating via phone and email, then you may be able to extend your search a little farther.
Some people want a large law firm so that there are always multiple attorneys available for their cases. Some people want a small firm experience so that they can speak directly to their attorney when they call in, and not an assistant or receptionist.
